Diamond Mills Hotel

This is a lovely boutique hotel with beautiful views of the waterfall. Comfortable bedding, heated bathroom floor and Wi-Fi connection. We had a nice meal at the tavern which is a short walking distance from the hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. Overall, a nice place to stay in Saugerties, NY.

Just returned from a two night stay at the Diamond Mills hotel. My childhood friend and I often meet at various inns and hotels in the New York/ Massachusetts area to hike. We selected the Diamond Mills hotel because of the various features they advertise on their website, such as pool and spa, that we were looking forward to enjoying during our stay. When we arrived to check in, we were shocked that there no public restrooms guests whose rooms aren’t ready for check in at that time.. However, we encountered several concerning issues during our short visit. We were very disappointed when we arrived and we were told the pool was not available, but we could go to the spa, plunge pool and sauna. We were surprised when we had to drive to the spa, only to discover that they were closed for our entire stay. This had not been disclosed to us at anytime prior to our arrival even though it was misrepresented to us it would be open the following day. While our room was nice, we had to keep the door to the porch shut since there were no screens! They even had us sign a waiver note that we were required to keep the door shut so no bugs were let in. On our first day we let the manager know how dissatisfied we were and she said she would relay this to the owner, but she never circled back to us, instead we had reach back out to her the following day. Eventually the manager said that the owner offered a $100 credit off our bill, This was was an inadequate response in light of the numerous issues we had experienced at the hotel, which was advertised as a premium spa facility and was not an expensive hotel. The bill was over $1k for two nights!! The manager and the staff were friendly and courteous but ineffective.

The room was nice with a lovely view of the falls, although there is no screen on the door so you can’t leave it open. The website advertised that their spa and pool was open and my high school friend and I were meeting halfway to hike and relax after at the pool and spa. Neither was open and when the pool finally does open it’s the size of a hot tub. The woman at the front desk said we could go to the spa and enjoy the sauna but when we got there it was closed. Here’s the kicker, I’ve gone to many hotels/spas like Mohonk, Emerson and Mirabeau where you get to walk from your room to the spa. This spa requires you to get in your car, drive over a bridge and turn down a small road. It wasn’t easy to find. When I arrived with my friend on Monday, hours before check in so we could hiking, I needed a bathroom. Remarkably, the lobby has no bathroom and I was directed outside to the restaurant which was closed. Instead of sitting by the pool or in the sauna after our hikes, we sat in the room. I could have paid 60 percent less at the average motel and done without the view since the views from the hikes were marvelous. When we complained we were offered 5 percent off our two day stay which we refused as insulting. I would not recommend this place to anyone, couples, families or friends. Go to the hotel spas mentioned above or stay somewhere cheaper and spend your money on food and drink.

Beautiful rooms, large comfy beds, with stunning views of the river. Helpful staff throughout our stay. The immacualte riverside spa, a short walk away, has a beautiful waterside loaction and we had fantastic treatments - worth the visit!

We recently enjoyed our 7th visit to this beautiful boutique hotel & can truly say that each trip has been special . The entire property is wonderfully maintained and our room is always fresh and immaculately clean on arrival and throughout our entire stay ( Housekeeping staff Karen , Minerva & Anamya are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ) . As always , we were treated like family by manager Sylvia & assistant manager Mary and their warmth and kindness are amongst the best memories of all of our stays . Patty & Peter Scharfenberger

We had such a wonderful experience staying here and dining in the Blackbarn restaurant. The staff were so accommodating, friendly and resourceful - not to mention the beautiful rooms and view. They made us feel like we were part of their family. I highly recommend ~Diane and Tony

Stay somewhere else! I booked this hotel specifically for the Waterside Spa they advertise as part of the hotel. It is a mile down the road, not at the hotel. The fitness center, classes, sauna, hot tub, and plunge pool were all closed when we stayed MLK weekend. I complained, told them they misrepresented their facilities on their website and should have informed me before check in. I was informed by the spa staff when I went for my treatment which they automatically include a 20% gratuity on. After a great deal of discussion with management, They agreed to refund me $100 for a two night stay and still wanted to charge me a $25 resort fee/ night. Laughable! The quality is not worth the price and beware of false advertising.

Best hotel in the Saugerties/Kingston area. The room was large, clean and decorated well. The view of the cascading dam from the balcony was beautiful. They light it up at night which is also a beautiful sight. The restaurant is excellent as well. The staff is very friendly, and accommodating .

I realized at the Diamond Mills that the true mark of a nice hotel is peace and quiet, and this hotel has that exactly. Blackout curtains, complete silence from neighbors and the street, and a wonderful staff -- including a helpful trainee. When you add in an incredible view of the waterfall, this is a place to stop. spacious rooms, heated floors in the bathroom --- choice.
